Hi there tout la gang,

We don't have much to say about research in practice at the Café right now

but we are talking policy and practice over here now: Literacy Enquirers.

more peace

Have you thought of something to do for peace day yet?
You can 'make a commitment' here.

Attack

At dawn the ridge emerges massed and dun
In the wild purple of the glow'ring sun,
Smouldering through spouts of drifting smoke that shroud
The menacing scarred slope; and, one by one,
Tanks creep and topple forward to the wire.
The barrage roars and lifts. Then, clumsily bowed
With bombs and guns and shovels and battle-gear,
Men jostle and climb to meet the bristling fire.
Lines of grey, muttering faces, masked with fear,
They leave their trenches, going over the top,
While time ticks blank and busy on their wrists,
And hope, with furtive eyes and grappling fists,
Flounders in mud. O Jesus, make it stop!

What a wonderful - simple but powerful because of the interactivity - site is Peace One Day.

Thanks Tracey for introducing it to me.

I like the experience of listening to Helen Mirren's recitation followed by the quiet of the Peace One Day site.

I think I'll add the link to the General Discussion in AlphaRoute.

Peace,

Nancy
